Grand Kerala Shopping Festival

Grand Kerala Shopping Festival  is an enchanting shopping event in Kerala which is conducting yearly. The festival is conducted by Tourism Department in co-operation with the Industries & Commerce Department, Finance Department and Local Self Government Department. Through this shopping festival, the Kerala Government tries to transform the State into a destination for international shopping experience.Launching"Shopping Tourism" in the state is anothter purpose of this shopping carnival.
                                                      The festival first started on 1 December 2007 to next year 15 January lasting for a period of 46 days. Its principle aim is to promote and develop commerce, trade and industrial sector of Kerala using the brand value of Kerala Tourism. The purpose of this festival is to make the state an International shopping destination within a period of 5 years and create job opportunities to develop world famous trade centers.

Kerala State School Kalolsavam

Kerala state school kalolsavam  is an annual event conducted by the state government of Kerala, conducting several art competitions for high school and higher secondary school students of Kerala. The festival was started in 1956, and till 2008, it was called as "Kerala State School Youth Festival". The participants are students from classes 8th to 12th. Winners from different revenue districts for a particular event will be competing in state level competition. This world famous 
art festival is usually conducted in December–January months of an year.This is a unique festival  in its structure and organisation. Recollecting the memory  of School Kalolsavam in the last 53 years it is seen that the Kalolsavam has refined much in letter and spirit.From the year 2000, Millenium trophy, a beautiful dancing Nataraja trophy was introduced. Today there are numerous trophies, cash prizes, grace marks etc. to the winners. Each year the venue of the Kalolsavam is changed from one District to another to ensure the participation of the people throughout the state.This year Palakkad is the venue for school kalolsavam and the festival is now running on from last week and it is concluding today coontributing many geniuses to the world.
